Ancient sanctuary and later fortress high above the white village and bays of Lindos. Lindos was one of ancient Rhodes's principal cities, and the acropolis centred on the sanctuary of Athena Lindia. Hellenistic structures were later enclosed within Byzantine and Knights of St John fortifications, producing a layered hilltop complex. The visit is strongest when you focus on temple of athena lindia, hellenistic stoa and views over st paul's bay.

History
