Neoclassical palace and gardens built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, decorated around the mythology of Achilles. The palace was commissioned in the late nineteenth century by Empress Elisabeth of Austria. It later belonged to German Kaiser Wilhelm II and served varied functions through war and political change before becoming a major Corfu visitor site. The visit is strongest when you focus on achilles statues, terraced gardens and sea views.
