Why visit

Prague’s landmark stone bridge across the Vltava, lined with Baroque statues and framed by medieval bridge towers. Commissioned by Charles IV in 1357, the bridge replaced an earlier crossing and became a vital route through medieval Prague; most of its famous statues were added later. It is included because it adds a distinctive experience to a realistic Prague or regional itinerary rather than acting as a filler stop.
