Ovčar-Kablar Gorge is worth including in a Serbia itinerary for its direct connection with geology, habitats and the physical structure of the landscape. The main visit can be organised around landscape viewpoints, protected habitats and geology, walking routes and natural features. These elements make the site useful for understanding the wider Čačak area rather than treating it only as a photo stop. Its physical setting also helps explain how transport routes, faith, political power, geology or local livelihoods influenced this part of Serbia. History
The West Morava cuts a steep meandering gorge between the Ovčar and Kablar mountains. Monasteries, river bends and elevated viewpoints give the area both religious and landscape significance.
