Princess Antoinette Park offers a local, family-oriented use of green space away from the ceremonial centre of Monaco. Mature olive trees, terraces and play areas occupy a steep hillside that demonstrates how public recreation is fitted into the principality’s limited land. For families it can provide a useful pause between museums and historic sites, while other travellers may appreciate the quieter municipal character and views through the western districts. History
The hillside is notable for long-established olive trees that recall the agricultural landscape which existed before Monaco’s dense modern urbanisation. The municipal park developed as a public recreation space and was named for Princess Antoinette, sister of Prince Rainier III. Over time it has been equipped with family facilities while retaining mature planting and terraced ground.
