The Grimaldi Forum is most rewarding when a temporary exhibition, concert or performance matches the day of travel. Its large contemporary spaces allow Monaco to host exhibitions that differ significantly from the principality’s historic museums, and the seafront architecture provides a modern contrast to Monaco-Ville and the casino precinct. Because the programme changes throughout the year, the building is best treated as a cultural venue rather than a fixed collection. It also sits directly beside the Japanese Garden and close to Larvotto, allowing an event visit to fit easily into an eastern Monaco walking day.

History
The Grimaldi Forum opened in 2000 as Monaco’s principal modern conference and cultural centre. Built on the eastern seafront, it was designed to accommodate exhibitions, congresses, performances and large public events. Since opening, the venue has become a major part of Monaco’s cultural calendar, particularly through its changing summer exhibitions and performance programme.
