Why visit

Olustvere is particularly useful for understanding a manor as a working complex. The main house is only one part of a large group that includes former agricultural, industrial and service buildings arranged around the estate grounds. Craft and educational uses keep several buildings active, giving the site a different atmosphere from a purely museum-style residence. Its central location makes it easy to combine with Viljandi or Paide, and the ensemble shows how manor economies adapted into the modern period.

History
