A scenic cable-car ride from near the old town to Trebević mountain, opening fast access to views and forest walks. The original lift became a symbol of pre-war Sarajevo and was destroyed during the conflict; the modern system restored the city-mountain connection.

The original lift became a symbol of pre-war Sarajevo and was destroyed during the conflict; the modern system restored the city-mountain connection. The place should be understood within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s layered history, where medieval states, Ottoman administration, Austro-Hungarian rule, Yugoslav development and the 1992–1995 war left different traces.
