The house belonged to a prominent Sarajevo family and survives as one of the clearest examples of upper-class residential architecture from the Ottoman era. The place should be understood within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s layered history, where medieval states, Ottoman administration, Austro-Hungarian rule, Yugoslav development and the 1992–1995 war left different traces.
