Why visit

Sant Pere del Serrat is modest compared with Andorra’s major Romanesque monuments, and that is precisely its value. The small building demonstrates how a mountain community could maintain a local place of worship with limited architectural display. Its scale, plain masonry and upper-valley setting fit naturally into a route toward Sorteny or Tristaina, adding human history to an otherwise landscape-heavy day. It also helps prevent Andorran church heritage from being represented only by exceptional bell towers and richly decorated interiors.

History

The chapel belongs to the historic religious landscape of the upper Ordino valley. Its surviving fabric reflects a small rural worship site that has been maintained and altered over time rather than a single monumental construction campaign.
