The Ensagents lakes represent the high-mountain side of Encamp that is easy to miss when concentrating on the valley settlements. Reaching the basin involves a sustained mountain walk, so the landscape unfolds gradually from forest to open alpine ground and glacial water. The lakes sit below rugged summits and close to an unguarded refuge, giving a clear sense of Andorra’s traditional hiking terrain. The area is particularly valuable for understanding the country’s glacial landforms at a human walking scale.

History
The lakes occupy glacially formed high terrain above Encamp. Their present character is primarily geological and ecological rather than monumental, with the surrounding basin shaped by ice and later alpine processes.
