Saint Martin Gardens
Saint Martin Gardens provide a scenic pedestrian link across the seaward edge of Monaco-Ville rather than a separate attraction requiring a detour. Mature Mediterranean planting, sculptures and shaded paths frame views over the coast, while the gardens soften the dense stone setting of the Rock. They work particularly well between the cathedral and Oceanographic Museum, giving a slower outdoor interval between major interiors. Fort Antoine Theatre
Fort Antoine combines a military site, a compact outdoor performance space and a broad Mediterranean outlook. Outside performance periods it is useful for understanding how the eastern edge of the Rock was defended and how Monaco has adapted historic structures for cultural use. During programmed events, the amphitheatre setting becomes the main reason to visit. Port Hercule
Port Hercule is the geographic centrepiece between Monaco-Ville and Monte-Carlo. Walking the quays reveals the steep urban amphitheatre around the harbour, with the palace on the Rock, the casino district above and dense modern development between them. The port is also part of Monaco’s sporting and event identity, most visibly through the Formula One street circuit and large waterfront events. Because temporary structures can transform the quays, each visit can look different, but the harbour remains one of the clearest places for understanding Monaco’s scale and topography.
