    Petrova Niva connects Strandzha’s quiet forest landscape with the revolutionary politics of the early 20th century. The relative isolation of the locality helps explain why it was suitable for a clandestine congress, while the memorial interprets the uprising’s regional organisation. The site broadens Bulgaria’s revolutionary narrative beyond the April Uprising of 1876 and shows that political movements in the Ottoman borderlands continued to shape local memory into the new century.

Kabile Archaeological Reserve

    Kabile Archaeological Reserve

    Kabile demonstrates the long urban history of southeastern Bulgaria away from the Black Sea coast. Its remains show how a Thracian centre was reshaped under Hellenistic and Roman influence, while the nearby hill explains the strategic appeal of the location. Because the archaeological area is extensive, it works well as a landscape site rather than only a collection of foundations. Museum material helps connect the surviving walls with everyday life, religion and regional trade.

Zheravna Revival Village

    Zheravna Architectural Reserve

    Zheravna offers one of the most coherent examples of a National Revival village in eastern Bulgaria. Its dark timber houses and enclosed courtyards differ noticeably from the whitewashed architecture of the Rhodopes, showing regional variation within the same broad period. The village is best experienced through its street pattern as well as individual house museums. Its position near the southeastern approaches to the Balkan Mountains also makes it a natural final link between Strandzha and central Bulgarian heritage.
